This effort resulted in Blueberry Hill, which was slightly sped up to give Dominos voice a youthful sound and the music difficult to copy. It was not just a hit; it became a phenomenon.

Initially overshadowed by Honey Chile, Blueberry Hill quickly emerged as the standout track, surprising even Dominos long-time collaborator Bartholomew. From its first week on the charts in November 1956, the song rose steadily, peaking at #2 on the Pop charts and reaching #1 on the R&B charts, ultimately spending 27 weeks on Billboard.
