When **Michael Buble** heard **Mariah Carey**s song [All I Want for Christmas Is You](https://youtu.be/fRyhqobl0sk ""), he was inspired by his bass player, **Craig Polasko**, and his slow, heartfelt rendition. Buble appreciated Polaskos arrangement because it had a beautiful, somewhat melancholic vibe that contrasted with Careys upbeat version.

While working with producer **Bob Rock** and **John Bryan**, who provided the string arrangement, they found it challenging to capture the intimate and understated feeling they envisioned for the recording. Of all the songs they worked on, All I Want for Christmas Is You proved to be the most difficult to get right.
