I Forgot to Remember to Forget - Elvis Presley

**Elvis Presley**s early work at Sun Studio in 1954-1955 featured carefully chosen songs presented in a new way. His session on July 11, 1955, produced influential tracks: [I Forgot to Remember to Forget](https://youtu.be/WaSDbbL5mPk ""), [Mystery Train](https://youtu.be/AC_xOPuoFDk ""), and [Trying to Get to You](https://youtu.be/LTXSa6geGHY ""). At just twenty years old, the boy from Tupelo was already a genius. Nothing tops Mystery Train and nothing sounds like it.

Mystery Train b/w I Forgot to Remember to Forget was released on the Sun label in August 1955 and topped the national country chart, with a reissue under the RCA Victor label in December. By this time, Elvis was selling more records than Sun could keep up with, leading to his signing with RCA by the end of the year.

A wire recording from the Louisiana Hayride broadcast on October 29, 1955, captured Elvis performing I Forgot to Remember to Forget. The recording from that Saturday broadcast is unforgettable.
