**Elvis Presley**s superb take on Loving Arms is a standout gem from his later years. Originally released by **Dobie Gray** in 1973, it caught Elvis' ear and lends itself to a masterful recording at Stax Studio in Memphis in December of that year.

The production on the song shines, with **James Burton**s guitar weaving a warm, evocative backdrop that Elvis elevates with his top-notch vocal. Backed by lush harmonies, he builds to a dramatic crescendo, pouring raw emotion into every line.

Laid down in three takes, Loving Arms is a haunting, heartfelt ballad that ranks among Elvis' best from the 1970s, and with whoever was on his mind, Elvis gave it his all.
